Nestled amidst the captivating beauty of Colorado’s Snowmass Village, the Snowmass Ice Age site is a treasure trove of archaeological wonders that have intrigued scientists and enthusiasts for decades. This prehistoric marvel, harkening back to the Pleistocene period, has yielded a rich repository of fossils and profound insights into Earth’s ancient past.
The Snowmass Ice Age Project had its origins in 2010, when an incredible discovery was made by a bulldozer operator during construction activities in Snowmass Village. This serendipitous find set in motion the excavation of an expansive Ice Age fossil site. These remarkable findings at Snowmass have significantly contributed valuable data to the scientific community.
Our Role
To share these remarkable discoveries, Snowmass chose BLKDG to create a cutting-edge website and an immersive augmented reality (AR) app. BLKDG’s website design features interactive timeline features highlighting high resolution photos of the fossils and the ice age creatures from which they came. User-friendly navigation ensures access to key sections like “The Discovery,” “The People,” and “The Fossils,” catering to diverse interests and knowledge levels.
