Black Dog is offering a Junior Web Developer internship to qualified candidates. This position is open for course credit based on the candidates’ requirements. Successful candidates must display exceptional skill and can demonstrate high-quality work in the field of development and design. All candidates must be passionate about their area of specialization and should offer insight to how they can help improve BLKDG’s digital capabilities. We look for candidates who demonstrate a clear point-of-view relating to their work, especially as it relates to the world of digital media and development. BLKDG has a team-oriented, collaborative culture, and we want students who play well with others. We offer flexible hours and the opportunity to work on exciting projects with exciting brands right out of the gate.The ideal candidate is someone who has a self driven work ethic with the ability to adopt BLKDG’s development processes, as well as apply critical thinking skills effectively on client engagements. The candidate is expected to have a basic understanding of industry trends and technical requirements needed to support the development team. Having an eye for design and knowing UI/UX best practices are a huge bonus.QUALIFICATIONS
Successful applicants will have experience with:
• Hand-coded HTML/CSS + WordPress Theme Development
• jQuery, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3
• PHP 5.2+ (including object oriented components), MySQL 5+
• Cross device + browser testing, validation
• Experience with WordPress
• Strong attention to detail
• Bonus points for git and Github experience.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ability to coordinate work on multiple projects, as well as work on other related duties of the job.
• Communicating with development team, project manager, project coordinator on a daily basis.
• Be yourself. Play nice with others. Have fun.

COMPENSATION
The selected candidate will go through a three month internship period. Don’t worry, this is a paid position, as well as offering course credit if applicable. We also offer a three month climbing gym membership upon your start date. If selected to continue as an employee of BLKDG, compensation will be determined by their performance during the internship.
